What am I entitled to?

Compensation of €250 to €600, depending on flight distance and the length of the delay — for a delay of three hours or more, a cancellation, overbooking or a missed connection.

What should I do at the airport?

Ask the airline to confirm the reason in writing, keep every receipt and boarding pass, and insist on the care you are entitled to — meals, drinks and, if you are stranded, a hotel.

How long do I have?

Claims can be made retroactively, usually for up to three years from the date of the flight and longer in some countries. It pays to check promptly.
