About Flightright
About Flightright
Why choose Flightright?
Flightright is the leading defender of air passenger rights in Europe. Since 2010 we have ensured that passengers receive the compensation that is rightfully theirs after delays, cancellations or denied boarding. Our success rate in court is 99% and we have enforced more than €700,000,000 on behalf of our customers.
How much does it cost?
Upfront, nothing. Flightright works on a no-win, no-fee basis, so there are no costs to you if your claim is unsuccessful. If we pursue your compensation successfully, we transfer the funds once we receive them from the airline, minus our success fee of 20–30% (plus VAT). If your case requires our contract lawyers, an additional surcharge of 14% applies — only in the event of success.
Do I have to pay anything upfront?
No. There is nothing to pay to open a claim or to use the free compensation calculator. Our fee is only ever deducted from money we actually recover for you.
Is my claim covered by a no-win, no-fee guarantee?
Yes. We either enforce your compensation or our service is entirely free — even if your case has been taken to court. The financial risk sits with us, not with you.

How do I open a case with Flightright?
Enter your flight details into our online compensation calculator. It only takes a few minutes, and we ask a few questions about the flight so we have everything we need to assess your claim.
How do I send my documents to Flightright?
After submitting your claim you can upload your boarding passes directly on our website. If you do not have them to hand, you can upload them later through My Portal. You can also send documents by email, WhatsApp, post or fax at any time.
Which documents are required for enforcement?
In most cases we do not need booking documents for out-of-court enforcement. In individual cases they may be requested, so uploading them when you create the case saves work later — particularly if we need to present your boarding passes to a court.
How can I check the status of my claim?
You can follow the status of your claim in the online portal. We also email you whenever we receive news about your case, and you can contact us by email or phone at any time.
How long do I have to submit a claim?
Under UK law you can claim for flights up to six years in the past; other countries allow between two and ten years. The exact limit depends on where the flight departed, so it is worth checking promptly.
Can I submit a claim on behalf of someone else?
Yes. You can submit a claim for others you were travelling with, and even for affected passengers when you were not on the flight yourself. Only the actual passengers can receive compensation, so do not list yourself if you did not travel.
My flight was part of a package holiday. Am I still entitled to compensation?
Yes. Package travellers have the same rights and claims under the Air Passenger Rights Regulation as any other passenger.
My delay was under three hours but I missed my connection. Do I have a claim?
If a disrupted flight caused you to miss a connection and you arrived at your final destination more than three hours late, you can claim. The flights must have been booked under one reservation and operated by the same airline or a codeshare partner.
Should I keep all my flight documents?
Yes. Keep your booking confirmation, boarding passes and any delay or cancellation confirmation. If you flew to or from Spain, France or Italy — or with an airline based there — boarding passes are especially important. If you have none, you can still open a claim.
When do the contract lawyers get involved?
Flightright is a legal services company working with contract law firms across Europe. We cannot appear before a court ourselves, so where the airline refuses to pay we recommend engaging our contract lawyers to take the matter to court.

How does the compensation calculator determine the success of my claim?
The calculator is automated and provides a logical assessment of your claim, telling you immediately whether you are likely to be entitled to compensation. It reflects the information you enter and is an initial assessment — it does not guarantee the success of the claim.
The calculator says my case is unlikely to succeed. What can I do now?
That means the claim conditions under the regulation do not appear to be met on the details you entered. If the airline caused a disruption and you believe a detail is wrong, get in touch — a member of our team will be happy to take another look.
How is the amount of compensation calculated?
Compensation is a fixed sum set by the distance of the flight, not the ticket price: €250 for flights up to 1,500 km, €400 for 1,500–3,500 km, and €600 for flights over 3,500 km.
When do I receive my money?
We transfer your payout immediately after we receive payment from the airline. In uncontested cases that usually happens within a few weeks; where a case has to be enforced in court it can take several months, and we keep you updated throughout.
