Airline compensation: we help you make a claim

The short version

How to claim from an airline

You can pursue any of these carriers yourself. Doing so almost always comes down to the same three habits — and the same obstacle.

  1. 1

    Put it in writing

Ask the airline to confirm the reason for the disruption in writing. A dated record is the single most useful document in a disputed claim.

  2. 2

    Collect the evidence

Keep photos and receipts for expenses, tickets and vouchers, and hold on to boarding passes — some jurisdictions require them.

  3. 3

    Insist at the airport

Ask for the care you are entitled to, and exchange contact details with other passengers so you have witnesses.

The obstacle is that airlines are expert at wearing a passenger down. That is the part we remove: we correspond, we persist, and — at our own risk — we take the case to court.
